Saturday 20th December Tips

By | December 19, 2014

Well what a week we had last week! All 4 of my tips came in including a £322 lucky 15, a £240 4 fold not even to mention the 2 singles. This was definitely the best week of the season so far, and continues the trend of profit Saturday after Saturday for the last 2 months. Moreover, we cant rest on our laurels, and need to push forward and continue the trend, we don't want any dips, especially ahead of a busy Christmas period.

This week I have picked out 6 teams that i fancy to varying degrees across 3 divisions. We start in the Premier League where I have picked out 2 little beauties. The first is my bet of the day n the Premier League. West Ham entertain a highly dis-functional and clearly confidence sunk Leicester City side. The Hammers have won 5 and drawn 1 of their last 6 home games against much better opposition, and at 8/11 represent good odds to continue this run. I have The Iron as a single and also the first leg of today's treble. My second bet from the Premier League comes at Loftus Road where QPR play West Brom. QPR have been great at home recently, and welcome back Charlie Austin for this game after suspension, the man who is so vital to the way they play and more importantly the man who scores the goals. QPR have only lost 1 of their last 6 home games and have beaten Burnley, Leicester and Villa in the process. West Brom are in very similar company to those beaten sides, and at 16/11 again the odds are decent. I havent done this as a single but instead put them as the first leg of a patent (7 bets). Other fixtures I looked at included Man City, just to boost the odds of an accy. Yes, i think they can win but at 1/3, its not worth it. Swansea is another I like the look of away at Hull. My issue with The Swans is their inability to be clinical when it matters. They often look the better team, but they let in simple goals, and miss plenty. For this reason I'm leaving this alone.

West Ham to beat Leicester City £75 8/11 William Hill.

The Championship offers another tough round of fixtures. There are 2 games that I was very close to having a nibble on, and they were on the shortlist, but didn't make the cut. Firstly there is Bournemouth. They play away at Blackpool. I think they will win this, but at 3/4 the odds aren't great for an away game, and they have had some tough fixtures recently including the midweek game against Liverpool, and there is a potential for them to slip up. The second game I looked at was Wolves vs Brighton. This is purely down to Brighton's poor form that I like the look of this game for a Wolves win. However, Wolves form is equally as bad. Again I fancy them to win, but not enough to bet on it!

League 1 has a few games I like this week. I haven't put any as singles, but have 3 games that make up other legs from my treble and patent bets. The first of these is Bradford to beat Scunthorpe. This is the second bet of my patent. My thoughts on this are more about how bad Scunthorpe are, as to how good Bradford are. Scunthorpe struggled to beat Conference North side Worcester, and were outplayed over the 2 legs. Moreover, Scunthorpe concede an average of 2 goals a game away from home, and this I see as no different. Bradford (17/20) have won 5/6 games more recently and looked good in beating Chesterfield last week. The third and final leg of tomorrows patent comes in the way of Sheffield United. The Blades (11/10) had a great win over Southampton in the week and will look to carry this form into the league. They can beat anyone in the league on their day and Walsall although being no mugs won't have enough in this. The second bet of tomorrow's treble is that of Swindon. They were close to being a single also, but I opted to keep it at 2. Swindon are the leagues form team having won their last 5 games and they will have to much for a Donny team that have lost their last 2. Donny have a decent away record, but Swindon will be looking to keep their run going.

League 2 features my bet of the day. Luton Town have been good to me this season, and having already beaten Newport in the cup, I think are a great bet to win again. Luton are 23/20 to win this and having won their last 7 on the bounce at home, this represents great value. I've also added this to this weeks treble, to complete this weeks tips.

Luton Town to beat Newport County £75 @ 23/20 Coral

West Ham to beat Leicester, Swindon to beat Doncaster Rovers, Luton Town to beat Newport £20 @ 7.59

QPR to beat West Brom, Bradford to beat Scunthorpe, Sheffield United to beat Walsall 7x £10 bets- max payout £280.70 with William Hill.

Good Luck

13th December Betting Tips

By | December 12, 2014

Not the double bonanza weekend that I was hoping for.  The two Premier League teams I picked were the saving graces.  I also backed Villa when they went one nil down but I haven't included this on the betting spreadsheet (all about the transparency).  The NAPS are 11 from 17 too as they ended up drawing nil nil last weekend.  Accrington also drew at a cracking price of 11/5, hindsight might suggest Accrington and draw was the one to back.  Scunthorpe were winning at HT and ended up drawing.  The only defeat was MK Dons, who lost to a team that fielded an ineligible player and may get reinstated to the FA Cup, won't make a difference to my bet though.  Not too disastrous and something to build upon.  Laying some of my I'm a Celebrity bet proved savvy as Carl pipped Jake to the Crown.  My X Factor bet looks doomed with Fleur now 2 to 5 odds on favourite.  So to this weeks football………….

Premier League – 55/20 for Burnley Draw No Bet (William Hill) or 17/4 for the win (Victor) has to be the more sensible option, rather than backing Southampton to win at 1.8 (Stan James).  Burnley have lost one in five and Southampton have lost the last 3.  The only issue is that Burnley have had some easy games in the last 5 whilst Southampton have played 3 of the top 6.  They will be wanting to bounce back but I would rather be on Burnley at the value price then on Southampton.  The only other notable mention in the Premier League is Manchester United to beat a team that just can't seem to make any strides, Liverpool.  What makes this game even better to back on is the fact Bet 365 are offering the in play special.  Bet up to £50 pre match and they give you a FREE £50 in running.  You use your own money and if it loses they give it you back.  One of the only offers like this with no strings attached.  It isn't given back as a free bet but actual cash.  You can withdraw it straight away if you wish.  I will be having Man Utd to win with my own money and a speculative first goal scorer around 10 to 1 for my in play bet.  The price at Bet 365 for Man Utd (4/5) is only 0.03 worse than William Hill.  Just as I was about to post the blog another superb offer fell at my lap.  Paddy are offering money back as a free bet if the game ends in a draw.  This is on W/D/W market.  I will be having another £50 on Man Utd with Paddy at 4/5 also.

The Championship – With little to go at in The Premier League we turn our attentions to The Championship.  Norwich and Bournemouth are the only teams at home that are odds on this week.  This should tell us that picking a winner will be tough.  It also tells us that there may be some bargains to be found.  Sadly I think it is the former and not the latter.  The one match then does look a good bet and price is Sheffield Wednesday to beat a down trodden Wolves team.  Sheffield Wednesday are pretty much 13 to 10 across the board.  However, the term bogey team has never been so apt.  In the last 22 games against Wolves, Wednesday have won only 1.  Wolves have won 5 of the last 8 against Wednesday and Wednesday haven't scored a goal in the last three.  It would be unwise not to pay attention to things like this, look at Chelsea's poor record at St. James' Park. Should they be included in this weeks picks? Hmmmmmm?

League One – Oldham 4/5 is a little shorter odds than I normally like but it is the first game that really shouts out at me.  I am making this game my NAP for this week.  Whilst Oldham lost their last game to Doncaster they are performing well and will want to remain in the top 6.  Their opponents are Yeovil and they are certainly not pulling up ny trees.  I haven't got anything against them, after backing against them to lower league opposition last weekend too, but I can't see anything except an Oldham victory.

League Two – Usually by this point in the blog I have picked out quite a few games and teams to get our teeth into.  On this occasion I have found it more difficult to find any value with confidence.  Let us see what League Two brings.  Well, only Burton are odds on at home so let's hope there is value here and not another tough one.  A tasty little prospect is Dagenham and Redbridge to beat Tranmere at home.  Dagenham are over 2 to 1, 21/10 (Bet 365) will be a price I will be jumping on.    Dagenham looking for a third league win on the bounce and Tranmere only six points from a possible thirty.  Exeter and Carlisle promises to be a game with goals and over 2.5 goals at Bet 365 at even money might be a sensible bet here.  Combining it with an exeter win pays 24 to 10 at Stan James.  Whilst  I think this could very much happen I am not convinced it offers the best of value.  A straight Exeter victory is 2.25 at Victor.  Oxford at 17 to 10 (Bet 365) at home to Bury is also another tasty fixture that might be worth a punt.

MY BETS

Man Utd to win £50 at 4 to 5 (Bet 365) and £50 at 4 to 5 (Paddy Power) with money back as free bet for a draw

Sheffield Wednesday to win £25 at 13 to 10 (Bet 365)

Oldham to win £100 at 4 to 5 (Bet 365)

Dagenham to win £75 at 21/10 (Bet 365)

Exeter Vs Carlisle Over 2.5 goals £25 at evens (Bet 365)

Oxford to win £25 at 17 to 10 (Bet 365)

Oldham and Dagenham Double to win £50 at 5.58 (Bet 365)

After my nearly £3000 sixfold and accas a couple of weeks ago it puts me in a situation.  It is similar to always having the same lottery numbers.  The one week you don't put them on they come in.  I am dropping the trebles this week and just going for the 22 bets.  I will be placing stakes of £3 on all the above 6.  Fourfolds, Fivefolds and Sixfold.  The sixfold pays odds of 124.74 to 1.  for £66 it returns £2560.04.  If four results come in, only 4 of the 15 permutations make a loss (a very small one at that). Happy Days for 5 and over the moon (again) for 6.

GOOD LUCK.

December 13th betting tips

We had mixed success last week, with both my singles landing, but none of the other 3 teams for the accy did. Not the best week, but as it goes i still came out in profit which sees the season long profit rise to well over £500, with season long bets still to come…. Not too shabby. This week i have picked out 5 teams that I fancy in various forms and will talk you through these.

The Premier League is a battlefield this weekend. There are a lot of games that I think will be tight on Saturday. The only game I really fancy is Manchester City to beat Leicester. City are on a great run of form, and despite the loss of Ageuro to injury, they still managed to win 2-0 in Rome, and that was without Toure, Silva and Kompany too! Toure will definitely be back, as maybe Kompany and Silva. To be honest Man City don't need them, as i think their reserves would still be too much for Leicester at this time. They are rock bottom of the league, and leak goals for fun at the moment. Man City are only 1/2 in this match, which is too short for a single, but will make up the first part of this weeks 4-fold and lucky 15 bets.

The Championship has 2 games of interest with one of my bet of the days and also an outside bet that i like the look of. Firstly, lets start with Watford. This is one of my bets of the day. The Hornets impressed me with their 5-0 demolition of Fulham last week, and with the striking prowess of Troy Deeney and Matty Vydra up top, they will trouble any defence in the division. Granted, this result came on the backdrop of a number of losses, but i believe this will be a big confidence boost and show they have turned the corner. We also have to factor in the form and league position of their opponents Wigan. Wigan have won 1 away game all season, not won in 6 games and have lost their last 3 away games. They sit 23rd in the league and must be very low in confidence. Watford are 11/10 to win this and i make this my first single of the day, and the second leg of my 4-fold. The other bet tomorrow in the Championship that i like the look of is Derby to win at Boro. Boro have been in decent form recently and i know a lot of people like them. I don't personally rate them that highly and think that Derby are the better team. Derby did well for me last week, and at 5/2 i am going to have a little punt on this as an outside bet.

Watford to beat Wigan £50 @ 11/10 with William Hill

Derby to beat Middlesborough £25 5/2 with Bet Victor

League 1 this week didn't really offer me much inspiration to be honest. I looked at a couple of games, namely Oldham to beat Yeovil and Scunthorpe to beat Crewe. However, neither of these games I felt were good enough and sure enough to lump on. Scunthorpe's inconsistencies put me off, despite the oppositions woeful league form. In the Oldham game, i like he look of Oldhams form, as they are unbeaten in 8 at home, and Yeovil have only won 2 in their last 10 home and away. Moreover, Oldham have only won 5/9 at home and at 4-6 the odds don't really float my boat. As a result i have left League 1 alone this week.

League 2 sees my second single of the day, and also my 3rd and 4th legs of my accy. The single comes in the form of Burton Albion. Burton entertain bottom of the table Hartlepool, and i can only see 1 result here. Burton have new management and are in pretty good form, that would see them favorites to beat most in the division. Burton have won 6/9 at home this season in the league including beating Luton in their last home game. What makes this game safe to bet on for me is the opposition. I backed Hartlepool to be relegated at the beginning of the season, and they haven't let me down. They are currently on 12 points from 19 games and have lost 7/9 away from home. Burton are 3/4 to win this and this i'm all over as both my bet of the day and also the 3rd leg of my accy. The final bet of my accy is for Exeter to beat Carlisle. Carlisle have also lost 7/9 away from home this season and have the worst away from in the league. Exeter have been in  a strong run of form and are unbeaten in 8. Exeter are 5-4 to win this and i was close to putting this as a single also but have chosen to just add them to my 4-fold.

Burton Albion to beat Hartlepool £75 @ 3/4 William Hill

Manchester City, Watford, Burton and Exeter all to win. £20 4-fold 12.42 Bet Victor and 15 £4 bets in Lucky 15 (£60 stake).

good luck.

Saturday December 6th betting tips

By | December 6, 2014

We were 1 game away from a clean sweep last week, but still had the 2 singles with QPR and Luton landing for us. I also did a 5 fold and a super yankee with the 5 teams i picked last week and was 1 goal away from winning a 4-figure sum. However, all in all it was a great weekend, seeing our profits for the season rise to over £500, and more importantly maintaining the momentum with currently have. This week isn't the easiest set of fixtures to choose from, largely hindered by the FA cup meaning we haven't got the League 1 and League 2 games this weekend, however, I've picked out a few games that i like the look of.

In the Premier League this weekend there are 3 games that i fancy home wins, namely Man City, Spurs and Liverpool. However, they are all around 8/15 and each have a reason to put me off backing them or adding them into an accy. Man City have hit top form in the last few weeks, however they have the biggest game of the season in mid-week with a tough away fixture in Rome. If they have half an eye on this Everton are capable of nicking something from this. Spurs are very inconsistent and flatter to deceive on occasions. Again i expect them to beat Palace today, but Warnock likes the games where his teams are up against it, and they may think they can nick a point. Liverpool have also turned the corner with a couple of wins on the bounce. They looked pretty good at Leicester in the week, and i think their confidence is coming back, however, they still aren't that good a team and Sunderland may look to spring a surprise at Anfield. Its for these reasons that i am leaving the PL alone this weekend.

The Championship forms the basis of todays bets. I have chosen my bet of the day from this league and also 2 others to supplement my 5-fold acca and super yankee. First up is the bet of the day. Derby entertain Brighton today and they are one of the form teams in the country. Prior to last weeks loss at Leeds (that i picked as a banana skin!) they have won 10 and drawn 2 of 12 games. At home they average 2.2 goals per game, and concede just 0.89. They are top of the league, and Steve Mclarens men will be pushing hard for the 3 points again today. Brighton on the other hand now sit in the bottom 3, having not recorded a victory on the road for 7 games. Derby are 3/4 with William Hill, which isn't amazing odds but nice enough to lump on. The second game i like the look of is Blackburn. Blackburn have got into a lovely run of form, being unbeaten in 9 and winning their last 3 home games on the bounce. They play Sheffield Wednesday today and despite Wednesday ability to seemingly draw every game (drawn last 4 away and 7 of last 10) i fancy Blackburn with a fit again Jordan Rhodes to have too much for them. They are even money and this is good odds in my opinion. The last of the 3 championship games that ive picked out is that at the City Ground. Forest have turned a corner after their recent poor run, and in contrast Charlton are in free fall. i haven't liked the look of Charlton all season to be honest and think they are now being found out. They have only won 1 in the last 6, and Forest will be too strong for them today. Both Blackburn and Forest form legs 2 and 3 of today's 5 fold and super yankee.

Derby to beat Brighton £75 @ 3/4 with William Hill

Its round 2 of the FA cup this weekend. A lot of people think that this means there will be lots of surprises and upsets, and as in any game week, cup or otherwise there will be surprises. However, these clubs will always look for the financial benefits of qualification to the third round and the possibility of a big draw to a Premier League club. Its on this basis that i have today's picks. I have chosen 2 teams. Firstly is my second single and this sees a top league 1 side at home to a league 2 side. Preston entertain Shrewsbury in this. Shrewsbury are no mugs, however Preston have the ability to beat any team in their division on their day, so a team in the league below should result in a comfortable home win. Preston are 11-13, which i think is great odds. The final bet of the day comes with MK Dons. The Dons have the best home form in League 1. They face another league 1 side in Chesterfield, who score a lot of goals, but they also concede a lot. MK Dons came in last week for me (as did Preston) in a 5-0 rout, and i fancy another win today. MK dons have only lost 1 in their last 10 games and have won 5 and drawn 1 of their last 6 at home. Chesterfield are without a win in 7 away from home, bar a win at braintree in the last round! MK are 17-20 and again this represents good odds for me and this completes today's 5 games!

Preston to beat Shrewsbury £50 11-13 With William Hill

Derby, Blackburn, Forest, Preston and MK Dons 1x £10 5 fold 20.8 William Hill and 26 £2 bets for super Yankee (£52 stake).
