European Weekend Preview

With more top European leagues playing this weekend, we have selected a number of matches sure to win you some money. This week’s collection are all home wins that should be bankers.

We have games from the English Premier League, Dutch Eredivisie, Turkish Super Lig, Spanish La Liga, Scottish Premier League and German Bundesliga.

Liverpool v West Ham (Sat 29 Aug @ 15:00)

An in-form Liverpool host a struggling West Ham side this weekend in the Premier League, and are big favourites to come out on top. The Merseysiders have started the new season well, picking up seven points from a possible nine. West Ham have lost back-to-back in the division, and could well come unstuck given their poor form ahead of the clash.

The visitors are no slouches, however, with Palace strong on the road in the second-half of last season. Nevertheless, the defending champions should win at home to the Eagles.

Celtic have started the new season strongly, and look in great shape to defend their league title. Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are big favourites to see past Antalyaspor this weekend, with the home side boasting a strong squad featuring the likes of Luis Nani and Robin Van Persie in the attack. They are a formidable side to face in their own backyard too, and should come away with all three points as a result.

French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais should come away with all three points this weekend against Rennes, with the hosts boasting four points from their opening two matches.

Last season’s title-challengers have retained key players in the shape of Alexandre Lacazette in attack, and have enjoyed a new perfect start to 2015/16. Rennes have lost their only away game played, and could well be receive similar treatment this weekend.

German Bundesliga outfit Schalke are rejuvenated this season under a new manager, and are looking to build on their emphatic opening day victory in the division with back-to-back wins ahead of their clash against little-known Darmstadt.

Schalke are expected to come out on top given home advantage as well as their bright start to the campaign, and they’re in great shape to make it two wins from two.

Schalke thrashed Werder Bremen in their opening league outing, while the visitors are awaiting their first win in the division this season. As a result, the Blues are big favourites to emerge victories come the final whistle.

Lazio v Bologna (Sat 22 Aug @ 19:45)

SS Lazio are a team to fear in the Italian Serie A now, and weekend visitors Bologna could well find out the hard way on Saturday night. Last season, the home side finished third in the division, and boasted a 63% win ratio in their own backyard.

Bologna are likely to suffer a similar fate as the majority of sides who travelled to face the Sky Blues in the last 12 months, and a win would get Lazio’s season off to a dream start.

Last season, Atletico lost only two games from 19 in their own backyard, and lowly visitors Las Palmas will have a tough task to come away with another from Saturday’s meeting.

Italian Serie A champions Juventus being their defence of the title at home to Udinese, and are expected to pick up where they left off in 2014/15.

The Old Lady have lost the likes of influential and industrious midfielder Arturo Vidal, but have plenty of individual brilliance capable of breaking a stubborn defence.

Juventus have long been a side formidable on home soil, with their last defeat in front of their fans coming all the way back in 2012/13.

Inter v Atalanta (Sun 23 Aug @ 19:45)

A new-look Inter Milan are hoping to start the season with all three points to ensure they keep up the pace with the early league leaders. Manager Roberto Mancini wants to get the side back to former glories, and is expecting a win over Atalanta on Sunday as a result.

Last season, Inter Milan were a mess in the Serie A, but their form in 2015 has been much-improve, and could see them delivering this weekend.

Both teams have scored in three of their last five games in all competition, and this weekend’s clash should be no different given how uncertain Barcelona have been defensively.
